I took Sam to see Despicable Me in 3D today.  It far surpassed my expectations, being much funnier than most kids’ movies (including a brilliant dig at Lehman Brothers).  It also had the best utilization of 3D technology I have seen so far - including James Cameron’s Avatar.  My stomach actually turned in the roller coaster scene, which was a delight.  As a result, I would definitely recommend this movie, although you may want to take in a matinee like we did and save yourself a few bucks; 3D is pricey!  38 dollars for two tickets, a large popcorn, an ICEE, and a soda.  However, I did choose to forgo the large soda in favor of a medium because the large cup was decorated with Edward Cullen’s face.
